Wine Country Pet Sitters is the
creation of Marguerite McLennan.
Marguerite has been a Sonoma
County resident for 33 years.
After careers in technical sales
and real estate, she was ready
to step into another career she
was passionate about...that led
naturally to animals.
Marguerite has always been “owned”
by—and loved—her pets, and
decided to make a career out of
it. She discovered when she
needed to leave home
that it was difficult to find a
trusted resource to stay with
her beloved Papillon Buddy and
cats Socks and Joey. She
realized there was a need in
Sonoma County for a pet sitting
service that was not a “one
person operation,” but a
professional company with
trained pet caregivers offering
a trusted resource to the “pet
families” in the area.
So Marguerite decided to fill the need
and Wine
Country Pet Sitters was born. |

Our Process
-
Marguerite and the client
discuss the client’s needs
and choose a sitter who is a
good “fit” based on that
information.

Next, the client, the sitter
and Marguerite will meet to
ensure the sitter has a good
rapport with both the client
and the client’s pets before
they are retained.

A file is created and
agreement signed in which
the client outlines all the
specific needs the pet
sitter must accommodate,
such as special dietary
needs, exercise habits and
any special routines or
behaviors
the sitter must be aware of.
Also if there are additional
tasks to handle, such as
bringing in newspapers and
mail, watering plants and
the like, these will be
noted.
